Local arist, Deborah Lawrence, was originally selected to produce a unique ornament for the White House Christmas tree. The White House now says it will not display the ornament due to inapproiate subject matter.

The ornament, which features a picture of Democratic Representative Jim McDermott, who backed impeaching Bush, also features text that references the impeachment of George W. Bush.

A sentance from Deborah Lawrence’s artist statement reads “Text–whether I write it myself or quote other sources–I employ as a framing device and decorative complement to imagery, as well as a tool of propaganda.” Lawrence also mentions “definace of authority” and “rebellion against political conservatism” in her statement. Sounds like the White House has it coming. Maybe next year the White House will be a little more forgiving.
